Buckminster has the most perfect life of any Cocker Spaniel.
He shares a big house with his best friend Edward, has his own room with a huge bed, an Olympic sized swimming pool, goes for runs every day, flies his own supersonic plane, has many friends, girls and boys, lovely young ladies that find him irresistible, as well as many lady friends of the four legged variety. He has a full social calendar that most would be envious of.
Yet Buckminster senses incompleteness in his life, amid all the trappings of his wonderful life something is missing.
Finally he discovers the lack and sets forth on an eventful journey to find his destiny and along the way protects forever his friends from the depredations of those who would harm them, increases the marketability of chipped beef on toast and improves the grammar of less fortunates while never losing sight of his epic quest.
